ok install of debian via net

ok trying to install via net as not got dvd drive in it and dont fancy downloading all the cds

 

anyway ran install select various options unticked email sever anyway decided to then install email server bit but not rest.

 

so then tried maual install of kde using apt-get and that download but then fails on trying load it.

 

so then reran config and selected desktop took email off etc

 

it then uninstalled email but never out desktop stuff on.

 

So before i start again any tips might have to download all the cds but prefer not to if can.

You need to run 'dselect' at the command prompt and that will allow you to set up apt to talk to one of the mirrors.

 

You then go down the list and select what you need - easy!

yer did that it seems to pic stuff up but then failing out somewhere or not download it right...

 

might download cds this weekend and on monday try install from cd..

nope trying to set network scanner up...

 

plus going to have few other things sitting on it...

 

basicly not telling them it is linux just go to implment it and then when it works really well then tell them.....
