[hosting] Joomla from USB?

I am running xampp from a USB stick, no problem. I have configured the security.

Now I want to install/run Joomla from the same memory stick, but how?

Where do I extract the Joomla files too? How do I then install Joomla and configure phpMyAdmin?

There should be a folder called HTDOCS. Extract the Joomla files into a folder within the HTDOCS folder. Then to set up Joomla and the MYSQL database go to http://localhost/(folder name)

 

*Replace folder name with the name of the folder which contains the joomla files.

 

To Access PHP My Admin, vist http://localhost and there will be a link to php My Admin at the bottom of the page.

Back it up regularly, usb memory sticks have a finite life span and something like apache under xampp on a moderately busy site will be constantly writing logfiles.

Thanks for that; I should have mentioned that it is just for me to experiment with for the short term.
