gshaw Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Tryng to get hold of 19" 4:3 TFTs seems to be a nightmare at the moment, been looking around the £80-£90 mark and there doesn't seem to be much about. Just missed out on the Samsung Syncmasters that were cheap but the current deal seems to be this one... Acer V193Db 19 TFT Monitor - Misco.co.uk Eco is good, contrast ratio looks nice and it's black so will match our Lenovos... anyone had Acer units before? Do they last, uniform colours across units etc?
badders Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I've got an Acer 22" at home and never had any problems yet, we also have some Acer 17" TFT in a few rooms and they've been fine (about 3 yrs now), nice and bright, occasional colour problems that have been traced to a faulty VGA cable which has been easy to replace. We've had problems trying to find 19" 4:3 monitors and eventually switched to widescreen as they were cheaper (GNR and Hanns-G).
OutToLunch Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 We have 2 IT rooms full of the AL1716 (4:3 hard glass 17" model) and they've been no trouble at all - also survived direct hits from footballs and various other items. Look nice in terms of both aesthetics and image quality.
