Whats the best value for money these days? Are 1TB available / affordable ?

 

Is SSD still pretty pricey per gb?

 

Ideally want 500gb min, but 1tb would be nice if its affordable.. Wheres the cheapest place to look online? (for uk delivery)

SSD's are still quite expensive but I guess that depends on make / model / capacity and type of drive ie MLC or SLC ( as I am sure you already know ) did you have a few ssds in mind that you wanted to check prices on ?

 

Other then that there are the usual dabs.com or misco.co.uk and ebuyer.com ( play.com has some stuff but price wise I am not sure about ) as well as a few others like novatech ( not sure if it was just me though but I always found novatech to be a bit more on the pricey side )

Its going to occasianly be used for recording live bands with the 16 channel external soundcard. Will the speed of drive make much significant differnece for tihs?

 

I was thinking 500gb minimum, I picked up a WD Passport 2.5" hd in the US last week at 750gb, they also had 1tb so I guess they must do the drives individually too?

 

What would the WD Green offer ?

solid state drive would

 

1. be very quick

2. be better ref power consumption

3. might be the more expensive option but would be worth it

Where is the best place to buy them from? Do any suppliers on here still do personal orders? I heard something about CPLtd not trading on here anymore or something?
