gibbo_ap Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 i am having trouble getting these (DVI-I Splitter Gold - Laptop Computer to two 2 Dual: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo) to work. its to connect a pc to a projector, the pc has 2x dvi outputs dvi monitor connecting to a dsub projector. any ideas
p858snake Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Have you tried telling the laptop to turn on the output on that port (normall something like [FUNCTION]+[F5])? and those cables normally need special video cards that are designed to handle them.
plexer Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Ok so you have a computer with a DVI gfx port? You have plugged that splitter into the DVI port? You have then plugged your monitor into the DVI port provided by that splitter? You have plugged the projector into the 15 pin dsub connector provided by that splitter? If all of the answers are yes and you get no display on the projector and the projector input is correct then are you sure your DVI port on your computer supports the analogue side of things? or maybe a driver setting to enable it? Ben
gibbo_ap Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 the cable from the projector is in the dsub port of the splitter, the monitor on the dvi port, splitter plugged in to the dvi on the computer. there is an image on the monitor but not on the projector.
plexer Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Are you sure the DVI interface on your computer supports the analog connection also? Digital Visual Interface - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Ben
