AIT Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Hi, 2D is loading, and for some reason pupils can navigate to the storage server (through network places) access any other pupil information/ delete /make items etc. I have checked permissions and its not that. This is a new 2008 R2 server box. Interestingly, If i set share permission to only the correct pupil rather than everyone they can no longer access. Its like by default not having any security permission on a folder is giving them rights to edit the folder. Any thoughts?
pete Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 It is a permissions problem - 2D doesn't magically convey more access to an end-user. Are you restricting at the share or file/folder level? Both? Which is most restrictive? What does security > advanced > effective permissions show you for: a) student user b) everyone c) domain user No-one's done anything retarded like including Domain Users in Built-in\Administrators?
AIT Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 actually believe i might have tracked it down, however not solved yet. SERVERNAME\users had domain\users as a member
