Virtual Machine Software For Windows 7 x64

Hi,

 

I am looking for some software that can do the following:

• Run .vhd files in Windows 7 x64 (not essential)
  

• Allow me to run a virtual machine on a totally different network than the host. Without the host being connected to the network of the virtual machine. The host machine will have 2 network cards.
  

• Allow you to close the window of the virtual machine with it running in the background. So when you close the window it doesn't shutdown the virtual machine.
  

 

Can anyone suggest anything please?

dosent xp mode do all that?

if not vmware player should or virtual pc2007

Virtual PC wont allow me to close the VM and still have it running.

 

I cant use XP mode as i wont be using xp and i would want more than one machine running.

Sun's Virtual Box supports Windows 64bit hosts have you tried that? I use it for everything VM on my Vista Laptop.

Likewise, I use Oracle's (SUN) Virtual Box for more or/ less everything these days! Very Good

VMWare server does that, but it's a bit plop.

 

Or if you've got any old box with an Intel network card and a blue power light (you can not underestimate the importance of the blue power light) shove ESXi on it, then hide somewhere, as long as there's network and power anywhere is fine (although if it's going to be submerged seal the fans up with putty first).

What you recommend instead of VMWare? I'm quite used to it, but I'm thinking to check out Sandboxie. Have any1 here tested it?
