Found New Hardware Wizard Loop

Hi all

 

I am having a problem with a laptop which is in a Found New Hardware Wizard loop whenever a USB device is plugged in.

 

Below is a video of what i mean. I can install the device if i cancel out of the loop and goto device manager but that is far from ideal. I have run a malware and virus scan and also run checkdisk.

Try unplugging your keyboard, then plug in the memory stick.

Might be the wrong area, but could we worth following this through to make sure the catroot2 isn't corrupted in some way:

Oh dear, I should open my eyes some more! Thinking about it, if it's any USB device, try deleting your USB controller from Device Manager, reboot, then Windows will be forced to re-install the driver as new.

Thanks for the tip, Unforunately i am now not back in that particular school until friday. Will try it then, if the teacher remembers to leave her lappy!
