I have googled around and tried restarting the information store as suggested but still get this problem. I've tried connecting to the mailbox via outlook but it just shows as empty but the unread email count is still there.

Problem is im having trouble with backups and have not had a decent backup of exchange for some time (stupid symantec!!!)

Is there any hope of fixing this?

Cheers

Looks like a corrupted mail store database, you'll want to use the eseutil command line program to scan and repair the database.

Any ideas on the command? I have seen a few but couldnt get them to work, says it couldnt find the database. My head is spinning, sorry if i sound a bit dim!

edit: Nevermind i found the msexchange.org article and will give it a go later today. Just installing Service pack 2 for exchange.

ok i dismounted the database and ran a isinteg /s -fix -test -folder and it came back with the following:

Test folder Result: 57 error(s); 0 warning(s); 4677 fix(es); 7923 row(s)

I then ran it again and got the following:

Test folder Result: 57 error(s); 0 warning(s); 3 fix(es); 7923 row(s)

So as you can see the fixes have gone down quite a lot (still not sure what it means by fixes, is it its fixed that amount or there is that many things that need fixing??

I mounted the database again and logged in as a problem user and i can now see his mailbox whereas before i couldn't.

Any ideas on the 57 errors? shall i keep doing this is isinteg command until thet eventually start to reduce as articles i've read have suggested?

Haven't used it myself but if the articles suggest it, its probably the right thing to try, you coula also look for a -verbose command switch which would probably give you much more information about the individual errors in question.
