[php] Access Violation at 01ACAB4A

I am transferring our website from a physical machine to a virtual machine.

 

It is running Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, PHP 5.2.13 (zip package) and MySQL Community Server (Release: 5.1.48)

 

All of the above are clean fresh installations however, when copying my Joomla site over to the new server and going to localhost it comes up with the following error

 

PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 01ACAB4A

 

it has also come up before with

something about the "mysql" adapter not been found??
