We are on the latest version of SIMS 7.128 after our recent upgrade to SQL 2008.

If I reset a SIMS user password the user can change the password and login, however after a reboot they cannot use SIMS on ANY machine. The minute another SIMS user logs in logs and exits SIMS, anyone can log in with no problems.

any ideas?

I've heard of this before although I'm scratching my brain now. I think that there was a patch for this actually although I think a temporary solution was to restart the SQL service.

Supportnet lists this under Fixes for reason 0 - may be similar???

PLEASE NOTE : FIX 1 IS ONLY RELEVANT IF THE USER'S PASSWORD HAS BEEN RESET

Fix 1

This may be due to the 'Enforce Password Policy' settings within SQL 2005

To change this, log into SQL Server Management Studio and expand the Security tree and then the Logins tree.

Find the user that is getting the error, right click on their name and select properties.

In the Login Properties window, remove the tick from the 'Enforce Password Policy' tick box and then click OK. Close SQL Server Management Studio.
