enjay Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Are there perhaps too many smilies available for use? I've just wanted to use a particular one, and struggled to find it amidst the pages of bouncing, rolling or juggling smilies, and a rather random crocodile. Considering we seem to only use perhaps 10 smilies between us, do we need so many? Alternatively, could be added to the quick list on the right, as this seems to be one of the more popular ones.
Hightower Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I think EduGeek should move back to fasthosts to give people something to actually twist about!
maniac Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I'm quite fond of some of them . . . . Of course, they have little to nothing to do with ICT, but I particularly like the lama.
enjay Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Excellent, hadn't noticed the llama. I must try and find a way to shoe-horn it into a post....
Domino Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 maybe ordering them by popularity would be a better suggestion then - as you appear to have changed your opinion of the random ones fairly swiftly ;-)
Gatt Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Of course, they have little to nothing to do with ICT, but I particularly like the lama. I dunno about that last statement... I do this on a regular basis, waiting for an install or PC to boot - (goddam smiley limits!)
witch Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Maybe the answer is to learn how to write your particular favourites and then you can always use them without having to look through lists of smilies. I tend to use a lot as it is one of the only ones I can write!
enjay Posted July 2, 2010 Author Posted July 2, 2010 maybe ordering them by popularity would be a better suggestion then A popularity sorting might be too complex, but it wouldn't take much to skim through a few dozen posts and see which ones people are using the most, then set that as the list on the right. Some of the ones currently in there I've never seen used. Actually, I notice that is now in that list, so maybe it already is sorting by usage, and I just don't use them enough to change the list from default... as you appear to have changed your opinion of the random ones fairly swiftly ;-) Not in the least. The jumping llama made me smile for about half-a-second and that was that, can't think of a single time I would use it, other than just chucking it in randomly for no reason at all.
