browolf Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Never played FF online before, is it like WoW? kind of like wow. ffxi online is a LOT harder, but ultimately more rewarding. FFXIV is probably going to be somwhere in teh middle between wow and xi
flyinghaggis Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 The last FF online past me by but I reckon I'll give this one a try! What format are you guys planning on getting it on? PS3 or PC?
browolf Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) The last FF online past me by but I reckon I'll give this one a try! What format are you guys planning on getting it on? PS3 or PC? pc. there's an official benchmark program: FINAL FANTASY XIV Official Benchmark my pc gets 3000 on the low setting, but my graphics card can't do the resolution for the high setting. Core2Duo E8500 / ATI HD4850 / 3.2G ram (XP) Edited July 1, 2010 by browolf
browolf Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) sure. it's been going for 8 years and hasn't had to give itself away for free like say lord of the rings online I've played with the same character on and off for 6 years. I'll find out how many hours of gametime that is later. about 1700 hours of game play :-o but bear in mind one char can ultimately use and swap between all the classes and multi-class too. flyinghaggis Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Just tried the benchmark on my PC (i7/GTX470) and got 3016 for the high benchmark. Weird how the benchmark runs in windowed mode and not full screen though ?
CHR1S Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 PMSL - Low settings - C2D T9400 @ 2.53Ghz, 4Gb, ATI Mobility HD 3400 - Scored 350
Valentine Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 The recent alpha was bordering on horrendous on most parts, they are going to have to do a huge amount of work on it for a Sep release. Considering the beta doesn't start till the end of July the release date seems a bit optimistic to me.
Sarconia Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Well, the date when my social life goes down the drain has been set. I was absolutely addicted to FFXI back in college, Mithran Red Mage for the win! I just hope my PC can play it at the max resolution... I've only got 4GB of ram now after my PSU blew up and took the motherboard and half my ram with it. The replacement motherboard I've got is obviously a complete load of crap which must be bottlenecking like no tomorrow as my other machine... AMD3500+, 2GB ram, old IDE HD somehow load Windows 7 just as fast and feels more responsive. Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4GB Ram, Geforce 9800GTX+... wonder how well it'll do, lol. I'll give it a go on my old AMD as well when I get home tonight
Sarconia Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I managed to get a score of 3100 on my main machine on the high settings, not too shabby Even my 2nd machine managed 1200 on the lowest settings... it looks like I'll be happily gaming away.. sorry, losing my social life come September.
Dins Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I got a beta invite the other day:cool2: Same here, yet to have a proper go of it though. It has made me want to start FFXI again though from the quick blast i had!
