Here on the Island we have been in talks with our LA about the possibility of buying into this structure as it has already been procured on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council unannounced to us.

I am looking for information from schools that are already on or have been offered the HPSN service so that I can compile an alternative model for our school and local feeder primary's.

Any assistance you can give would be gratefully received.

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Ben Clayton

Just to follow up to that private message: we're a private school, so we have nothing to do with HPSN. We have two uncontended ADSL connections provided by Southern Communications (£50 a month each, so £100 a month), combined at our end by a load-balancing router (ZeroShell, free) and filtered by Smoothwall (£2000 a year). Each ADSL connection gives us around 9Mb/s download speed, which seems to be ample for our 150-odd machines.
