Central amplifier for multiple rooms? Could have sworn I saw this posted in here

A long time ago there was a thread on (iirc) end-users having problems with volume / blowing speakers by driving them too hard.

 

Someone posted that they had central volume control (via an amp in their office, I think) over multiple rooms around their area. All those inputs (PC + DVD/VHS per room) were going through a central point and being fed to the correct room speakers.

 

They were using ceiling-mounted speakers as well.

 

Were you that person? Which amp/kit were you using?
