Hi all

Must admit I'm getting quite envious of Leicestershire and Northants and their get togethers.

Does anyone know if there are any that go on in Derbyshire - either social or conference / training style? I'm only in a primary school so am not very in-depth myself, more of a jack of all trades, but I am just wondering who else is out there and whether I'm missing anything!

Regards

Hmm, the secondary meetings seem to have dried up at the moment, and I am not sure whats happening at Primary level. Will update if I find out more.

Thanks, I don't know as there are many of us in Derbyshire anyway, just thought I'd put out a few feelers to see. Would welcome an update if you get one, thanks.

I got the distinct impression that Gary was avoiding arranging one. Which is quite handy really, as I never did have the time to get that Windows 7 migration presentation he wanted me to deliver ready... :D

I'll tell him that tomorrow! ;)

If you are free next week, feel free to come down to Northants and give it there instead.

Is anything happening about Derbyshire meetings? if not would people be interested in setting a social meeting up at one of our schools?

Nothing's happening as far as I know at the moment, would definitely be interested in some sort of get together maybe in or near Chesterfield? A social meeting would be good, then depending on what setup we have at our schools, something technical for future meetings too.

Just wanted to say if it would be of interest having Smoothwall present at one of the technical meetings (I know technical vendor presentations can be quite common) drop me a PM, more than happy to arrange something.

Hi, Sorry for the delay, ended up in hospital for a few weeks. I have talked to our Burser and our school is happy to host a social meetup. Im guessing towards the end of January now due to bett. We are The Meadows Community School, Highstreet, Old Whittington, Chesterfield, S41 9LG. If people are interested let me know what dates would be best and what needs to be set up.

Hi, that sounds good. My issue will be timing as I can get to things far easier in the daytime than in the evening ... if we can put some work-related stuff in as well and hold a daytime meetup, does that sound like a possibility? End of January would work for me, maybe a couple of hours on a Friday over lunchtime?

That works for me. Can we confirm this as a definite at The Meadows then? I have spoken to another IT Tech in another school who is potentially interested in attending. Any more lurkers on here who might be interested? I wondered if we could get the info onto the DnfL extranet as well to advertise it and possibly get a few more along - what do you think?

Hi, sorry for delay in getting back, still havent properly got over flu I had over christmas. I have got the ok from our school to hold the meeting, 28/1/2010 is on at 12.00. Unless people have anything specific they want to discuss I suggest just a general social meetup to get started and plan what we are going to do at the next meeting.

If you are coming can you post here or pm me please so I know how much refreshments I need to sort out.

  • Thanks 1

Hope you're feeling better, will PM you. (I think you mean 2011 in your post, unless we are travelling back in time lol!)
