Screen problem with Clevo / Sytlenote M67SU Notebook

I'm currently having a geek at a Clevo M67SU notebook that has many problems. The primary problem being an intermittent screen issue that after switch on results in a squashed start up set of screens repeating 4 times horizontally up the screen.

 

I have done the reset thing (removing power and holding down the on button for 3 minutes) and this on rare occasions brings up a normal start up screen - event got it logged on earlier. It was happily downloading updates then completely froze.

 

Attempts to boot since all result in the 4 screen unreadable compressed screen issue. It tries to work it's way through a boot up but fails on normal boot.

 

Any notebook experts there come across and found a way round this issue by any chance?
