crc-ict Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Hi all, I have been tasked with working out how to get an RSS feed from the Site News forum on the front page of Moodle. From the details on moodle.org, I have worked out how to turn on RSS for the site, and then for Forums, but I can't find the final option I need to activate RSS for the front page 'Site News' forum. Does anyone know how to do this?? Thanks, Chris
danbuntu Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 goto frontpage>frontpage settings you'll see sections with drop downs - 1 for logged in users and one for guest users. Select site news in the drop downs and that will display the site news forms posts on the frontpage No need to use RSS
crc-ict Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) @danbuntu: thanks, but you've misunderstood what I need. I have the news showing on the front page, what I need is to get those posts into an RSS feed to pull into our Digital Signage systems to show the same news feeds. secretlife Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 If you have RSS enabled then you should get the orange RSS icon in the forum and if you click on that it will give you the RSS xml feed that you can use - is that what you meant?
FN-GM Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 This will help http://www.edugeek.net/forums/virtual-learning-platforms/26778-rss-feed-moodle-forum.html
