Blocking the use of Spell check on a document?

I have just had a very strange query from a teacher, who is filling out a lengthy document, and apparently the document will not allow her to spell check.

 

Other documents are fine, but this one specific document has stopped it!

 

Anyone know where you even turn that setting on from, i've never heard of it.

 

And where do you turn if off again?

In Word 2003

 

Select all text then go to

Tools...Language...Set language...

There is a checkbox there for spellcheck
