Not possible.

If you buy the right software then it can add links to your office apps, and other software and photocopiers so that you can link files directly, but no bulk feature that i'm aware of.

This is one of the partner companies offering software that do that kind of thing.

Cohesion Software

i'm sure you could ask Capita to do it for you, for a fee...

you should ensure that the files are named in a standard format and ideally include the admission number.

where did the files come from?

the simplest thing to do albeit labour intensive is to just get someone to sit and do them one by one. it's a boring job, but we used to find there was usually someone in admin that was willing to sit after hours to earn some overtime.

I don't see an easy way to do this.

We are about to do student self-evaluations via a web based system on moodle, the output will be pdf documents that we will attach manually to SIMS.

I've specified that the system names them the same way assessment manager names individual reports.

we haven't decided who will do the uploading, no doubt it will be an admin task.

worst case for your scenario, if it's not urgent, i would sit and do a few every day, they don't take that long really. maybe you could use a script to generate a spreadsheet of names and descriptions for the files for use during attaching so you don't have to actually type anything. that will save you some time.
