MatthewL Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 At home I have a Business Inkjet 1100, been a great printer, had it from new the only problem is now I hardly print colour and when I do all the inks have dried up so I am looking for a small colour laser printer, probably wont be looking at HP due to cost. OKI would be my next preference and Samsung seem to have some good deals, can anyone recommend anything. Ideally networkable, if not will plug into my USB print server but networkable on its own is a preference. Must be cheap to run.
pritchardavid Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 How small you need it? We have HP Colour Laserjet 1600, there pretty good, through discouninued now, im gussing the newer model would be the same quality of even better, it isnt networked, but newer model problery will be Or maybe a konita miniota, the toners last a long long time on that, so might worth a look at that, we know this because we had three of these and we barely changed the toner in them, this was networked to0
MatthewL Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 I had a 2600, got rid of it due to poor quality and was slow at the time. Now I am just after something small and cheap to run
MatthewL Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 It's only going to do a handful of prints a month, looking something similar to a HP LaserJet P2055 size.
SYNACK Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Or maybe a konita miniota, the toners last a long long time on that, so might worth a look at that, we know this because we had three of these and we barely changed the toner in them, this was networked to0 Depends on the minolta, we have one that goes through about 3-4 hp workstations (value) worth of tonner a year easily. It is the most expensive printer we have ever had to run (purchased without my input).
dhicks Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 At home I have a Business Inkjet 1100, been a great printer Your cheapest option might be to get a continuous ink system for your 1100. We have a couple of these over in our art department, they work a treat: Cis Ink cartridge supply fits Business Inkjet 1100 on eBay (end time 11-Jun-10 23:47:34 BST) That's £50 from eBay, complete with several cartridges worth of ink. You can also add network connectivity to your 1100 with an HP JetDirect print server - you want a 200m, generally around £10 on eBay: jetdirect 200m items - Get great deals on Computing items on eBay UK! -- David Hicks
ricki Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Hi Is this for school. You might be able to get it under this offer IJT Direct Ltd - recycled inkjet and laser toner cartridges for Brother, Canon, Epson, HP, Lexmark and Dell Printers Richard
MatthewL Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 It's for home use. Also it is networked, just have the problem of inks drying up. Will check out the CIS.
