I jsut noticed this buried in a basement , behind the filing cabinet with the leopard sign

10th of May 2010 -

Important Notice: The Lancashire Grid for Learning is implementing a new Internet Content Filtering system for all schools from June 2010. As part of the migration to the new system, from Monday 10th May all update requests (blocking* / unblocking of sites) to the existing Smartfilter system will only be actioned between the hours of 1700 & 0800.

Nice to see that our colleagues are putting in effort out of hours :)

(Or course its not much good for teaching and learning during lesson time but never mind that :) )

And I wonder who got the contract to provide the new filter and what is it going to be?

regards

We will be providing an update on the filtering at the Network Managers meeting on 26th May and will make the slides available after the presentation.

If you are interested in attending please contact the call centre at Westfield to book your place.

I believe I'm not allowed in as its for Secondary ICT Network Mangers/Technicians :(

(And as it says on the sign - don't ask..... as a refusal often offends :) )

And since the ICT Exhib has been cancelled, I'd thought there would be a high chance of this being cancelled as well or very few techs going attending it as they can't kill 2 birds now :(

Hi Simon

The meeting is open for anyone who looks after Lancashire school networks, they do tend to fill up so if you are interested please book a place by sending a mail to the call centre at westfield with the school number of one of the schools you look after.

The meeting will be going ahead and the cancellation of the ICT Exhibition will not affect it.

Hopefully see you there.

Martin
