Very large Citrix XenAPPRMS_log.ldf

We're running Xenapp 4.5 and I've noticed that the .ldf for for the database is almost 4Gb, should it be this large? It's running on a full SQL 2005 server.

Which database is that for (since you can name your DBs anything)?

 

4GB does seem big for a log file mind... have you tried backing up the database to see if it transfers the data to the main database file?

There's 2 DB's on the server one is called XenAPP and one called XenAPPRMS. I only remember it creating the first one originally. I'll run a backup and see if that clears the log. Cheers.

 

EDIT

 

Just ran a backup from Management Studio and the .ldf is still massive (3.4Gb), the backed up Db was only 160Mb. Would a shrink Db work?

Couldn't do any harm

 

The other DB is probably your datastore so this one could be one of several others (summary database maybe?)
