the Tory 'lite' Party scrapping the third Runway plans at Heathrow which they promised they would do once they got into power.

Nick and Dave & a mixture of Lib Dems and Tories in the same cabinet !! I have never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life.

I look forward to the comedy that ensures.

 

I bet all those voters who voted for certain policies in which now been scrapped over this Coalition are really happy about that !!!

I suppose it's time to open a book on the date of the next general election. My money is on August after the Lib Dems decide they don'y like George Osbournes Emergancy Budget in June.

 

The result of the next general election will also be an hung parliament with Tories losing no more than 10 seats to Labour and the LD's losing another 2 seats while gaining another 5% of the national vote.

 

Much comedy will surely follow...

The Tory 'lite' Party will never work - this set up is an insult on the British voter. You vote for a parties policies only to find out that they are willing to forget those just to get a foot into number 10. The Lib Dems are FOR Europe, the Tories are against - they are now in the same cabinet plus there are many more examples - the whole thing is a complete and utter shambles.

You now have a party / parties running the country in which NO ONE yet outside of the talks actually knows what future policies / plans are going to be implemented [ or the ones they voted for ]

Clegg has done himself and his party no favors, and Dave has sold his party harsh fist by getting into bed with Clegg !!

 

What will the Daily Mail do now ? They loved Dave and hated Nick but now they have to report on the Dave & Nick show !!

May have to re-tract that as my sources say it's not true...... which is a shame.

Labour aren't going to be a hurry for another General Election.

 

The Labour leadership contest is long winded, and takes a good couple of months. Even after that they'd want to spend time rebuilding the party (as Blair, Mandy and Brown did from '94 onwards).

 

They'll be quite happy to let the Con-Lib Government flap around for 18/24 months whilst they rebuild and come back stronger.

Oh cheer up Matt. You lost, the electorate have spoken, and yes, it was messy but guess what fellas, the parties over, and in the past few days the media who have for so long been scared witless of being ostriciesed by the Labour spin and media machine have been growing more and more confident and are now only just now hinting at how bad a state the countries finances are thanks to Browns fantastic ability to run an economy by borrowing more and more without the slightest idea of how to repay it (not even taking into account the bank bail out). There should be some really interesting stories hitting the media in the next few weeks or so once past hidden sums are made public. Yes, there will be tax rises, this would have happened no matter who was going to do the financial planning. Yes, there will be cuts, again this would have happened regardless, and all I can here is Labour supporters going 'The nasty Tories are going to cut this, and raise that' without them expending the energy to realise who got us in this mess to begin with (and it's nothing to do with a 'global downturn\recession either), or what action would have to be taken by whoever was going to be in power.

Arrrghhhhhh. And I haven't even had a drink.

Why not? He's ex SBS, has masses of military experience, ran Kosovo for a bit (I met and worked a few days with him there and he's a top guy). Or would you prefer an ex shop steward to be running the defence of the country?

Glad to know that the old style Tories are still out there fighting the cause - a fruitless one but still fighting. As for cheering up, I am ecstatic that any Lab / Lib deal did not happen. And just think all the money pumped into the Tory election campaign and they still couldn't come out with a majority.

I agree - anything better than Liam Fox. Just a shame it's not going to happen. Also a shame Vince Cable won't be in number 11.
