All IT Managers, technicians and providers of IT support or IT services to schools are welcome to attend. It is predominantly a technically-orientated event. The agenda is as below. 1 - Welcome 2 - Best Practice Backup options and what cloud services can do for you by Stephen Peverett (Lodge Park Technology College) 3 - EMBC Updates School upgrades by Tony Sheppard SUMS R9 by Dan Broad (Technical Change Manager, EMBC) Security changes and what it means to schools 6 - Parental Engagement / Online reporting / Learning Platforms Summary of Becta resources and information by Tony Sheppard 5 - Best Practice Data Protection by Phil Sugars (ULT) 6 - Finance Where to find advice and guidance on purchasing for schools (Steve Thatcher - Schools Finance) 7 - Technical Events What would you like to see at future technical events? 8 - IT Managers' Network What services would you like to see on it? 8 - AOB 9 - Open Discussions (3-4pm) There is an additional event from 4-6pm for IT Support providers. This will cover additional materials and IT Support providers should attend both sessions. This is session will be aimed at those companies how provide IT support or services to school on a contract or cluster basis, or schools who sell / provide support services to other local schools, and will cover services supplied under EMBC, standardisation of support requirements from schools, documentation and school communications. If you can also email me beforehand with an up to date list of schools you support or provide services for if you have not done so already. Can you please make sure you familiarise yourselves with the materials from The FITS Foundation, The FITS Foundation - Professional qualifications and support for ICT staff within education , prior to the meeting, as well as bringing along any standard documentation you use within your schools.
