Stockport Academy, part of the United Learning Trust, opened as an Academy in September 2007 and moved into its new, state of the art, building in November 2008. We are a Science specialist college with a theme of Business and Enterprise. Our 6th form opened in September 2008. We firmly believe that ICT is at the centre of our successful delivery of learning to our students.

 

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, skilled and motivated Network Manager to strengthen out ICT support team. You will be committed to the highest standards of delivery and focussed on ensuring that all our technologies maximise the learning opportunities of our students.

 

The role will include leading responsibility for the operation, maintenance and management of all our systems and will include supervision of other team members. Additionally you will be responsible for the delivery of technology related projects across the Academy.

I remember going for a look round here about 12 months ago when we were gathering ideas for our network replacement project, the place is truly stunning! Imagine a school where you can afford to spend in the region of £100k of equipment just on two Music Rooms!

I don’t think a Managed Service should be considered an issue. I have worked with Academies as part of a Managed Service agreement and many already had a local ICT support team in place or were in the process of building a team.
