firefox_2006 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 All We have purchased 15 or so SoftXpand PC's and I am in the process of upgrading them from version 2 to version 3. The problem I am experiencing is that I cannot get Movie Maker to run inside the SoftXpand environment. Apparently you have to download and install the following software > Sandboxie - Sandbox software for application isolation and secure Web browsing to "fool" XP into thinking only one instance of Movie Maker is running. Has anyone else had problems getting Movie Maker to work in SoftXpand? If so how did you resolve it? Can anyone recommend an alternative? Thanks firefox_2006
multipoint Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Hi Firefox, what school are you from? I've found a KB article here that could help Using SoftXpand Xpress Application Runner to run applications I am aware that you will have to contact the author of Sandboxie in Israel to purchase Sandbox licenses if you go down that route. Try the link attached and if that doesn't work I'd go to the VAR you bought your SoftXpand from.
firefox_2006 Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 Hello Multipoint I am from a school in Lichfield, Staffordshire. I have managed to source a work-around where the user holds down shift when clicking on the MovieMaker shortcut. We bought the system off a one man band outfit and struggle to get hold of him. cheers for your reply.
multipoint Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Hey, did the fix in the link work? It would be interesting to know. Having spoken to a few people the moviemaker shortcut sounds ingenious!
firefox_2006 Posted May 12, 2010 Author Posted May 12, 2010 No it did not, infact I am finding more and more bugs and errors in this SoftXpand software, shame really as if we could just get it working properly it might prove useful.
