josh.coombs Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 i use symantec ghost solution suite. What i want to do is when i use the ghost console to remotly image pc;s The problem is that when it finishes imaging it adds to the domain but will not go into the specified OU. Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to solve it?
eejit Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 You have to delegate control to the the appropriate OU for the Symantec ghost account as far as I can remember. You can alter the default OU too so that it doesn't go in the "Computers" container, but instead into your "New PCs" OU instead.
josh.coombs Posted November 22, 2006 Author Posted November 22, 2006 how do i delogate control of an OU to the ghost account?
john Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Right Click the OU in Active Directory and you can select Delegate Control, select the options you need and select you Symantec Ghost Account as the account to have the power and away you go I would guess. (I dont use Symantec Ghost but know Active Directory)
eejit Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Josh if you still have problems tomorrow then post back. I mentioned the above off the top of my head, but I can give you step-by-step instructions from my server then if you need.
josh.coombs Posted November 22, 2006 Author Posted November 22, 2006 I tried that remotly tonight. Didnt work if you could post step by step tommorrow that would be great. many thanks josh
josh.coombs Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 i have tried everything suggested by the smantec tech support and all they said was that i should try using the FQDN instead of the netbios name. This didnt work either. Does anyone else that uses ghost have this problem?
