The main users are now complaing that the font is to small ( agree there). works fine on XP ,But don't want to downgrade a new machine. Any ideas as it seems to be fixed inside sims.net tried all the normall fixes. Ben
SYNACK Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Change the DPI setting in windows 7 to increase the size of all of the fonts to a more readable level, just do a search in control panel for DPI and it should bring it up, boost it to 125% and see if it makes a difference. Knowing education software is is probably hard-coded for previous versions of windows but it is worth a go.
bashy Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Been down that path, seems the boxes are a fixed size. Ta
SYNACK Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Short of a helper app or a fix in SIMS you may be limited to the nasty, nasty hack of dropping the screen resolution.
vikpaw Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 the problem with sims is ( or at least this was an issue quite recently dating back at least a few years) that it's built for minimum of 1024*768, if you go smaller, then links don't line up with where you click on the screen. I think this also happens on very large resolutions, so be careful. maybe the even worse solution is to use the magnifier from accessibility tools.
SYNACK Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Are you using ATI GPUs in your computers, there was a thread on here a short while ago about default font scaling for the fallback fonts used by ancient programs http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-7/55357-7-ati.html This sounds very simmilar and may hopefully solve your problem.
