Ric_ Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Has anybody experimented with virtualising the SIMS.net client software? Due to the amazing lack of Windows 7 and x64 support, I was wondering if there would be any mileage in using XenApp or App-V to stream the client software. My current plan is to use XenApp to present a published application but this requires keeping an x86 2008 server just to run SIMS. This seems both wasteful and it would taint my soon-to-be clean and fresh XenApp 6 farm (Server 2008 R2).
saundersmatt Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 We have the Sims .net client virtualised on App-v. Bear in mind that it will need re-sequenceing each and every upgrade. Matt
FN-GM Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 We have been using it in Windows XP mode for the office Windows 7 machines. Nothing like your setup but it works ok.
