TechSupp Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Has anyone got a quick way to remove adobe shockwave and flash from PC's? I have used the shockwave uninstaller standalone but that does not do enough and I have to fully uninstall flash and shockwave from add/remove programs, then reinstall using the msi files for a website we use to work. Don't mind if I have to go around each PC (not ideal but at least I now have the site running) so a script to do it that I have to run is OK. In Add/Remove programs there are currently two or three versions of shockwave flash to uninstall so just looking for something that simplifies the task.
Kitkatninja Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Not sure if these will help: Shockwave: Adobe Forums: Uninstallation methods Flash: How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control (as you've said that you've tried the shockwave uninstaller, but you didn't say if you tried the flash uninstaller). Run these as a start-up script per suite as you do them, then afterwards, remove the startup script and place a new one to deploy the new flash/shockwave. -Ken
chris-t Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 We use EMCO Remote Installer for lots of products. This will scan individual workstations or multiple however you want it to scan. From there you can uninstall an application (provided it appears in add/remove) from every machine on the network or just selected machines. The reverse is true as well, you can push an application to as many machines as you want and will install silently. The free version is quite limited but the full version only cost us £80-£85 ish and is well worth the investment Chris
