jonny_2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 hi A friend of mine who is a NM has some sunrays in his school that he setup. he has recently been to another place where they were professionally setup. So he asked me to post, (because he does not have an account) to ask the other school has a login box before the windows login box with buttons to change the screen resolution and reset and etc This also has the school logo onit. This login box has a picture of the school as a background behind it. so just to be clear, the username is put into this 'special' login box and login is pressed, this then presents the windows server 2003 login box with the username automatically carried accross, and the user just has to put in the password. Does anyone know how to do this? He says he imagines it is to do with the solaris server?
kmount Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 He is correct, it is to do with the Solaris system; specifically it is to do with the kiosk session configuration. Sounds very much like our menu that your colleague has seen.
jonny_2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) oh cool, how would he replicate something like that? Edited March 28, 2010 by jonny_2010
apaton Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) Kiosk mode if enabled, is effective the default application that all Sun Rays will run. So you can make all your Sun Rays display a Solaris X11 application. There are a number of tools to build a GUI menu on Solaris. I have used dtksh and Tickle (Tcl/tk).
