Theblacksheep Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 You can use it to backup windows VMs on esx. But not ESX itself or the VMs at host level on esx.
ful56_uk Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 Oh right so i couldn't take snap shot and restore from snaps shots.
Theblacksheep Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Oh right so i couldn't take snap shot and restore from snaps shots. Not with DPM on VMware. You can do with the data recovery plugin (personally its not worked for me) depending on your esx licence, run your own backup scripts or pay through the nose for a 3rd party VMware backup provider. DPM 2010 can do what you are after but only with hyper-v.
