Deploying 7zip silent installers

After following ChrisH's tutorial for Macromedia Suite Mx I have managed to create a set of 7zip silent installers. Now I want to deploy them across the network to the various locations that they are needed.

 

So I thought I would use the windows MSI wrapper metioned in the essential software list the only problem is it does not want to work for me. I end up with a msi file that is only 286KB now I suppose that is fine if its ment to referance the exe and not actually wrap it in a MSI but there is not documentation that I can find the help goes to a defunt website.

 

So I suppose what I am really asking is does anyone have any docs on this program or do you have an alternative way of deploying a 7zip silent installer?

If its not working for you as the 7 zip take a step back and wrap it in the format it is left in after my video. I believe this is how Ric did his.

There's a MSI posted on the 7 Zip website? Why do you need to use the MSI wrapper?

ChrisH As the files are at the end of the video they are still in an extrated form not one complete exe are you saying use the exe that is there with the wrapper leaving all the other files in the same directory or do i have to re-archive the files into one exe?

Leave them in their 'flat state' as per your first suggestion. You can then define the /s when your using the wrapper. I havent wrapped mine I install them once windows has installed so i didnt know you would run into problems like that. I know Ric has used the flat method with success.

He is talking about creating an installer using a modified 7 zip archive which is detailed on the MSFN boards.

Yup I do it then and use AutoIt to open flash and close it.
