How do I stop Network Links in Office?

How do I stop network browsing from within Excel and word?

 

A Pupil can type \\server in to a cell then click on the link and it works.

 

if they attempt this from within explorer it's dissallowed (as I'd expect).

 

Is this an office setting that I can set through gpo?
