tommccann Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Iv finally taken the plunge and put 7 on my laptop, added an extra partition and use it when im not in a rush (Xp is so much faster for quick stuff). But straight away I found two problems, Problem 1: Every boot up now it finds inconsistencies in the drive and tries to scan it (I presume it’s because it not my primary OS and I don’t mind skipping it, but still a little annoying) Problem 2: It won’t download anything! Just sits on the download dialog doesn’t ask to save or run then the connection fails. Possibly partition delete I think, Xp is the future!

_Adam_ Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 XP is future in much the same way as "The King is dead, long live the King". If you are having these problems after a fresh install it does sound like an install problem. Give it a proper go and find a dedicated machine. For those who know HP desktops, I took a 512MB dc7100 with Win 7 and a 1GB dc7600 with XP, both with same SOE setups. Photoshop CS4 loaded in 30 seconds on XP and 10 seconds on Windows 7.
