TronXP Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 If you keep get disconnection in game, have you tried turning off "upnp" in your router? Seems to solve a lot of connection problems for people.

That, I would have thought, would have caused much more issues esp with punkbuster as upnp allows software to open ports on the router properly. I suppose if you turn it off and punch ports through it could help.
Butters Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Right ladies and gentlemen. 32 Man Hardcore Conquest server for your attention PipBoy's Playground 85.236.101.73:20667 It's finally been setup by Multiplay, let me know if there's anything config wise that could use tweaking or if there's people being little gits. Got the server admin thing running on the old laptop during work hours for those lucky enough to be at home. 1
Rawns Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 Beautiful! /Added to Faves /Thanked (No thank button to actually "Thank")
Butters Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I'll be customising it a bit tonight with the intention that as of tomorrow the config will be stuck and then get a regular user base. I can also setup some private slots for edugeek users if that's helpful and depending on growth, possibility of server admin passwords for esteemed members!
ZeroHour Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Hmm I am starting to think we need to run an official edugeek one possibly And maybe a ts/vent (although I own one myself anyway)
Rawns Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 Hmm I am starting to think we need to run an official edugeek one possibly And maybe a ts/vent (although I own one myself anyway) TS3 FTW! Me and my mates set up a private channel on the public team speak server (think its Europe.teamspeak.com). Sound quality is second to none!
ZeroHour Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 TS3 FTW! Me and my mates set up a private channel on the public team speak server (think its Europe.teamspeak.com). Sound quality is second to none! Not tried v3 yet myself but I find vent very good (when configured properly) but both are payware for the server part usually but its not expensive. Anyone tried mumble before as I notice its opensauce which is nice.
Butters Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Awful GUI by the looks of it and it's probably a case of what you pay for. Always a believer in TS myself and TS3 is a dreaaaaaaam.
Mako Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Anyone tried mumble before as I notice its opensauce which is nice. Yes! I actually installed it just last night after my friends kept raving about it. I've always found TeamSpeak to have a delay in voice transmission, quality is always excellent, but I've never found it to be instant. The call for "Grenade!" was always received just too late. Mumble is completely free, voice quality is excellent and rapid, and you get a funky overlay when in-game with all the usernames of players in your voice-chat, which become highlighted when they speak. Which helps, rather than relying on recognising everyone's voices.
Soulfish Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Well I bought this last night via steam but haven't had a chance to play yet Hoping to get some time to play this weekend
ZeroHour Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Right I think I will try and set up a mumble for us to test. If it has issues I will look for a ts/vent I will see if I can try ts3 to compare to vent.
BHMS Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 TS3 is a great improvement on 2 when you get it set up right (it takes a while). Jury is still out on whether it is better than ventrillo but its still in beta.
Butters Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 If it helps Zero......with my server I get a free Mumble server upto 32 slots. Can rig that up for you seeing as I won't be using it.

Got the server admin thing running on the old laptop during work hours for those lucky enough to be at home. I'll be sure to add this to my faves. Is there a way to add by IP? Been tricky as the server browser is completely broken at the moment! I'll drag my clan-mates in too.

Don't ask me many on the EA forums have said this works and a guy in my clan who had this issue turned his off and he hasn't been booted since! If anyone is interested our server: http://cache.www.gametracker.com/server_info/85.236.100.106:20367/b_560x95.png we are usually on after 7pm and our TS3 ip is 85.236.100.27:12167 and you are more than welcome to pop on and say hello or join us in some games

Butters Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 A guy in my clan is Scottish, just have to move him down to his own channel once the Buckfast kicks in
