:)Hello All,

 

Been trying to get this done for weeks now and its really annoying me, i was giving this laptop last week when the owner tried to do there system restore they done it all properly and done it onto a dvd this booted up until half way though and failed, PC World wants 30 for a set of system restore C.D's/DVD's so ive had a look with it with installing windows 7 tried vista xp and even server 2003, i ran partition magic and run that it says there is bad sectors, but windows xp just blue screens along with server and the others just stop on installing windows, i thought of everything but i think the best thing to do would be to take the hard drive out and format it on my machine, although its coved by pc world its not even 12 months old anyone got any ideas, thanks!

Sounds like the HDD has failed. If it's covered let them sort it under warranty.

The warranty should cover the physical harddrive unless you put an axe through it, shouldnt matter what you installed on it I assume anyway.
