mirojr Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Anyone installed this Flowol 3 using msi in group policy. I usually run msi's by using msiexec /a from client and stick the files in a share and create package in Gropu policy and it installs managed software. This stuff claims to be installing, but it takes like 0.5 secs and ends and nothing is on the machine afterwards. bobbins. only got 3 million pcs to do by next week Ta
denon101 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I have deployed it to our 2 suites and the technology rooms. I used the msi on the CD and deployed it by adding it in the relevant GPO's. Everything worked perfectly. Only problem I had was having to copy our mimics the target PC's.
plexer Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I have deployed flowol3 and all the additional mimics discs using the provided msi's Ben
mirojr Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 I must be doing something wrong then. What did people do for the mimics? Thats an msi too did people install as msi or put them in shared location ty
maniac Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Flowol and Mimics all installed via supplied MSIa with no problems on my network. Is anything logged in event viewer on the PCs you've tried rolling it out to?? Mike.
mirojr Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 hi Its ok now It was the unc path having ip address instead of hostname that was messing things up: \\10.34.56.254\flowoldeploy\flowol3.msi needed to be \\fileserver-01\flowoldeploy\flowol3.msi Thanks
