Help... Staff to delete Print jobs

Sorry if this has been asked before, but some staff have been asking if it is possible to delete print jobs that have errors on local printers. The only way i can get this is to work is to make the user a Domain Admin, which is not ideal... so i was wondering if anyone else has come across this?

If you give your staff group security rights to manage jobs on the printer itself does that not do it?

have you tried giving the staff full permissions just on the local printer in printer properties security

 

that is what i have done here at brynteg and it seems to work , not sure if this works in an error state however

Nope, in the properties of the printer, under security, i have added staff with Print, Manage Printers and Manage Documents ticked, but still no avial.

I have tried adding the staff group to the local power users group on the machine... no joy.

I have Added staff to the "Print Operators" group i AD... no joy.

 

Am i missing something?

 

I forgot to mention that the member of staff doesnt own the job, so if a kid has been trying to print something, cleared off and left the machine, the member of staff can not clear the job.

have you added the staff as a PRINT OPERATOR? I had to do that here to allow staff to delete prints

sorry just finished reading the post there and seen that you have tried adding them to PRINT OPERATORS and it didnt work.

Yeah, staff are members of the Print Operators group located in Builtin in AD.

Ahhhhh, my bad, i was testing the print with Network Admin, and of course, no one can remove network admin's job apart from Network Admin.

just to add to this.. i have found out that i have to add the specific group to the Local Group of Power Users, otherwise it doesnt work
