CD Rom Player is a dependency in CC3 network

CD Rom Player is a dependency programme and not installed even I allocated to workstation, please can you tell me? There is any way to push the programme to install in all workstation.

I checked package control there is a message ‘CD ROM Player.ini=NOT_INSTALLED (DEPENDENCY).

 

Is there any solution for it?

NOT_INSTALLED (DEPENDENCY) means that the program did not install because another program it depends on was not installed first. In this case, I believe you need to allocate the CDROM Player Repair package to the workstation as well.

Indeed I beleive in the ini file for the CD ROM Player package (In Package control/Tools) there is a line which reads

 

Dependencies=CDROM Player Repair

 

This is the same for all packages in the RM system, this line in the INI file dictates what packages the install depends on

I don’t have any package CD Rom Player Repair, I know CD Rom Player depends on other programme but I don’t know what programme was that. I think Virtual CD and CD Rom Player Database are the dependencies, but even dependencies are on workstation but CD Rom Player is not there.

i have .net.

I can install manually to work but why it is not installed when I allocate to the workstation.

Look in the .ini file for the package at the Dependencies= line as Jamo suggested. Whatever is in that line must be allocated to the machine, or the package manager will simply ignore it without even trying to run the installer. A manual install bypasses the .ini file, so the install would proceed even if the dependency is missing.

I found that in .INI file but I could not find to allocate in my RMMC. Is it system package or normal package? If is not available how is there any way to get this?

It is a system package. If you don't have it, you have two options:

 

1. Contact RM to get it sorted (preferred).
   
2. Since you say a manual install works, you could simply edit out the Dependencies line in the .ini file (make a backup first). No guarantee that wouldn't cause problems later down the line, however, so proceed at your own risk.

Thanks You, before we had old server there was a same setup but i didnt see any CDROM Player Repair to allocate and was installed and worked. I will have a word with RM.
