SharePoint - buttons not working externally

Hi All,

 

I wonder if someone can help me?

 

I've just noticed that although my AAM does appear to be working ok - when I access my sharepoint site externally and try to add, say for example, a new calendar item the "OK" button doesn not function (instead IE says that there is an Error On Page in the bottom left hand corner of the browser window).

Oddly, the cancel button does work ok.

 

It seems to only affect OK or Apply buttons - does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

 

I'm guessing that it's a javascript error... but I have no idea what is causing it.

 

Also - I've tried several PCs but to no avail.

When you click "ok" or "apply" what appears in the address bar at the top? does the URL look correct?

Yes - it does appear to be correct - for example if I try to add a new calendar item the URL changes to:

 

https://mysharepointsite.co.uk/slg/Teachers/Lists/Calendar/NewForm.aspx?RootFolder=%2Fslg%2FTeachers%2FLists%2FCalendar&Source=https%3A%2F%2Fmysharepointsite%2Eco%2Euk%2Fslg%2FTeachers%2FLists%2FCalendar%2Fcalendar%2Easpx

Is it when you click an new Item, Or when you complete the feilds?

 

Click New Item: "https://MyDomainName.sch.uk/sandbox/Lists/Calendar/NewForm.aspx?RootFolder=%2Fsandbox%2FLists%2FCalendar&Source=https%3A%2F%2FMyDomainName%2Esch%2Euk%2Fsandbox%2FLists%2FCalendar%2Fcalendar%2Easpx"

 

And then when you click "Ok" It should then direct to: "https://MyDomainName.sch.uk/sandbox/Lists/Calendar/calendar.aspx" which would then show you the item.

 

Try, Restarting IIS and Maybe Give you FrontEnd Server a Restart.

It's odd as this works perfectly happy accessing it via an internal URL - could it be an AAM problem?

 

I've just reset the box (everything is on one server) and still no luck...

It Could be an AAM Issue, What have you set it up as out of curiosity..

 

Can PM me if you dont want to post them in public.

 

I have a TMG in place, so i dont have to set anything up in External AAM, so if you have an ISA/TMG box in place to publish your SharePoint Site then it should be setup as

 

Default: https://intranet.domain.internal

Intranet: https://intranet.mydomainname.sch.uk

Internet: Blank

Custom: Blank

Extranet: Blank

 

Bear in mind, our internal domain is not the same as our external domain name, so we have another forward lookup zone internally for external domain name so internally the kids/staff etc just browse to the same url.. and it works fine

Having a similar issue with Sharepont published through ISA 2006. The JAVAscript that returns pupil attendance stats from the sims box is not diplaying the results.

I've used fiddler on the browser and all the Javascripts seem to be running ok.

SharePoint is always a little hard to setup when it comes to ISA. You need to configure SharePoint to have the internal URL and the external URL.

 

The default URL should be the external URL.

You need to point ISA to the internal URL which is set in the intranet field in the alternative access mappings.

Yep take a look at the alternative access mappings and try turning off client integration in security settings.
