Tracking user activity

Does anyone know of a way to trace a user who has renamed a file? I can obviously trace who has modified a file's contents but not sure about just renaming it.

not 100% sure but if you turn on Auditing in windows it may of tracked it.

Yeah - windows auditing will track this.....if you've switched it on...

As everyone says you can use auditing but if its not already on then i dont think you can find out.
