Mac Problem - Wont Add to Open Directory

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Everything has been going so well at my end with regards to the macs so far...except I went to add a client to open directory and got this message

Unable to add server.

ccxserve01 cannot be added because it is not an Open Directory Server ot it uses custom mappings.

To add this server:

Press the show advanced settings button in the main windows

Select services from the toolbar

Use LDAPv3 service to add this server with the appropriate mappings.

Nothings changed as far as I know? Any advice?

Thanks

Did you try what was suggested? What was the result?

There is a specific way to get the time to sync correctly in OS X Server. I will see if i can find a link that outlines the process. My OS X Server was always drifting. In the end i decided to look into it and found a doc on Apple's site i think it was.

I just open the Date/Time Preferences Panel, tick the box to set time automatically, and type in the IP of the DC (assuming it is providing time to the network) and press enter. Time should sync straight away.
