Red Hat / Brightmail on Hyper-V

Hi All,

 

This is a bit of a long shot...

Does anyone use Brightmail on Hyper-V?

 

I've managed to get the VM image installed on it, and gone through all of the config, but it isn't picking up the network card.

 

Unfortunately my knowledge of linux could fit on a stamp, so I'm not sure how i'd go about trying to get it to pick up the virtual network card drivers?! Can anyone help?

when installing Linux on hyper V you need to add a legacy network card..

then install..

I'm having a go at a fresh install via that method (I was using System Centre Virtual Machine Manager before which doesn't have the option for some reason)

you should be ok i have 4 ubuntu server running, on hyper-v 1 Proxy With split Squid config, 1 Mail With webmail, 1 VLE, 1 You tube clone(in house access only)

Still having the same issue even after a fresh install with Legacy Adapter specified. I've attached the error shown on screen.

 

Any ideas?

Well... I'm frustrated enough (through my own lack of knowledge + lack of Symantec help... and not supporting Hyper-V deployments!) to be hovering over the delete button of SCVMM!

 

Seems a shame (and slightly odd) for Symantec not to support Hyper-V now that it is a viable alternative.
