6Foot2 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Hi, I don't often use the Out of Office message but the PA to The Head does and she does not seem to have any problems. Also I have received the Out of Office message from members of staff I have sent E-Mails to while they were away. So no we do not seem to have any problems. To put this into context we do have our own Exchange server but I am not involved in administration/configuration of same.

I came across this a while ago and left it disabled because I wasn't sure whether enabling it would end up with more spam being directed at us. Edu-IT Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 I can see the messages being generated by our server, they're appearing in the Journalling account too, but they don't make it to the recipient. Are there any other logs on the server I could look at?
srochford Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Check the info here You Had Me At EHLO... : Exchange Server 2007 Out of Office (OOF) for Exchange 2007 setup - there are lots of options about what messages go out of the organisation. An earlier version of Exchange (5.5? 2000?) was very broken - it sent replies to every message, even those flagged as "bulk", "mailing list" etc which shouldn't get auto-replies - but from (I think) 2003 onwards the defaults if you turn it on are fine but it could be turned off by default (or, if you didn't set up this server, someone might have turned it off "for safety")
