comp fix job

my friend's cousin, who lives in oakham / leicestershire from what i can tell from passed messages has a laptop on which windows is fked. I think it's bsod'ing. both of them are pretty clueless. She could take it to a computer shop but going by ones round here, they tend to charge a fortune and don't do the best job. Lets say I'm more inclined to trust a random person on here than a random person in a computer shop.
