Webcam/Security Cam

Not really sure where to put this, so here will have to do.

 

I've seen them before so I know they exsist but I'm unsure. I'm after an IP Cam that I can plug into a switch/router for access that also has the capabilities to either MMS or Email out without using a pc so on motion detection it sends out an Email/text whatever. I'm looking for a single socket low power solution. I'm trying to avoid having a pc running all day purely for the sake of the camera.

 

Any suggestions of low power solutions which involve a pc would be great aswell. If I cant find a camera like above I was looking at one of those "nettop" style pcs assuming they would be the cheapest lowest power/cost way of doing it.

Yea that sort of thing. Its for indoor home use though so doesnt need to be quite that spec!

D-Link and Linksys do a few IP Cameras that could be the kinda thing you're looking for, most of them just need ethernet/wireless connectivity and power.

 

We have a couple of older D-Link DCS-5300G which can upload pictures when it detects motion via FTP or e-mail.

 

IP camera, wireless internet camera and other network camera solutions from D-Link for example.
