dezt Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I am having a strange problem with a shared folder. The folder maps accross as part of a logon script fine, but when users double click on the folder in my computer it says access denied. This is a bit strange as my share permissions are set to everyone full control, and for testing purposes I assigned staff full control in the security permissions. They do not have any denied permissions applied, so I cannot see why they cannot access the folder. If I open Word and click the mapped folder it will let me browse the folder and open up a word document, but this is not what the teachers want to do, they want to be able to browse to their resources folder and open the files they see. I have set pupils read and execute permissions on the same folder and they have no problems accessing it. Can someone please help, this is driving me mad.
dezt Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 Yes, ive set everyone permissions to full control so i just need to lock it down with security. I have given pupils read & execute access and they work. I have given domain admins full control and they work. I have given staff full control but they get access denied when trying to go through my computer.
dezt Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 Problem solved now, I clicked the create new share button, gave the share a different name and it works fine.
