Sims simsinst.exe error

Hi,

 

I have been reading through several similar threads but cannot find this problem anywhere.

 

We have sims which works fine and up until last week was installing fine on workstations.

 

this week we have tried reinstalling sims on a workstation and when we run simsinst.exe we get the following error:

 

'SIMS Installer was unable to locate the SQL Native Client installer in the SIMS Setups Directory. Please run the file server installation, then restart the installation'

 

I have tried running simsinst.exe on a number of other workstations as well but get the same error. Nothing has changed on the server or in sims with the last two weeks.

 

Anyone got any ideas?

Is the sims.ini file in the windows folder on the computer looking at the right place? And is the connect.ini in program files/sims/sims .net file path ok?

I would redownload the sqlncli.msi from microsoft
